This year we took a family vacation to Ft.Walton/Destin, Florida. We had a BLAST! We found some yummy places to eat, played at the beautiful beaches, swam in the hotel pool, did some sightseeing, and enjoyed time with family. (PS: Brady even got car sick but luckily the puke was in the parking lot as soon as we pulled into the hotel...so glad it was there and not in the car or the hotel room). Isn't life great with kids?
Our first night we ate at a place called Angler's restaurant. Good food, great playground for kids, a nice pier off the restaurant, and just overall a good time. This is Ashlyn in front of the restaurant playing on a big fake shark.

On the pier you can pay with a few coins to look through this telescope but we didn't have any but Grant tried looking through it anyway.
The first morning we woke up and went to check out the beach before breakfast. This is such a great picture of Corey and Sadie. Did I mention the beaches there are absolutely amazing? I love them!
My beach bum and he was so cute and loved building sand castles. He was not a fan of getting in the water at the beach. But he loves himself a swimming pool. I think next year when we go he'll like the beach more.
Ashlyn loved how soft the sand is compared to what we have here in Galveston. She loved going in the water the first day but by the next day she wanted to just be at the pool. We did spend a lot of time at the beach the first day they all got their fill. The best part was it wore them all out.

One afternoon, I left the kids with Corey and went with my sister-in-law, Alison, to get some boogie boards and things. We also just happened to go and taste some delicious cupcakes at Cupcakes by the Beach in Ft Walton. I saw the little shop as we drove in the first day. They were mmm...mmmm...good! It was so yummy and we can't wait to go back to it next time.
One evening after a long day swimming and hanging out at the beach we went to Harborside Village and walked around. The kids rode the little train around, we had dinner, and Corey and his brother enjoyed watching the boats that were docked. Grant was enjoying being silly.
Then afterwards we drove looking for an ice cream place and we found the most crowded yet the most declicious place called, Shakes. It was so good! Can you guess what Corey had? If you know his profession then you'll know immediately!
We heard great things about AJ's and so we went and had the best waiter. They even have a man dressed as a pirate (see below) who blows up different shape balloons. Let's just say a few of the kids' balloons ended up popping and making them a little sad. Ashlyn and Alexis' (my niece) balloons lasted the longest.
Brady wore Casch's pirate balloon hat for a bit. He loved it and then was sad once it got popped.

Our last evening we took pictures at the beach where we saw several other people stopping to take pictures. I have to say I am hoping for better cooperation next time we do this from my kids. I want some nice pictures and I think we plan on wearing matching clothes. Enjoy!This is Corey making funny jumps.
