TAGGED

My friend, Elizabeth, tagged me this week on her blog. This means I've got to answer 5 questions for all the world to read on mine. Here goes...

1. What were you doing ten years ago? Ten years ago, I was living in College Station and trying to avoid dating boys to focus on school. I was taking classes at A&M and Blinn and trying to figure out what I wanted to really do.

2. What are five things on your to-do list? 1. Do the never-ending laundry; 2. Clean the bathrooms and mop the floors 3. Anything and everything that I need to do for Christmas; 4. Work on photos for others; and 5. sleep in!

3. What are snacks you enjoy? Too many to name - I love anything chocolate, I love sweet and salty snacks, I have been wanting to actually snack on salad lately (weird I know), and I love a good Dr.Pepper

4. What are the places you have lived? Kingwood/Houston, Brenham, College Station,Pflugerville, and Katy-all of them just happen to be in TEXAS!

5. What are five things you would do if you became a billionaire: 1. Build our dream house; 2. Buy a jet ski; 3. Pay off Corey's student loans; 4. Give a ridiculous amount of money to autism research; and 5. take the kids to a tropical island to play on the beach...I love going to beaches!!!

Well, now it is time to tag 5 friends: I tag Summer,Michelle,Mindy,Jennifer, and Amanda. Copy and Paste the questions on your blog and let's see your answers ladies!

Kid are Hilarious!

This evening Corey was sitting in our rocker/recliner with Ashlyn sitting on his shoulders. She was so nice to point out....

'Dad your hair is disappearing!'

*Our kids are so funny but if you've seen Corey's head lately there really is nothing there.*

Don't forget...

Today in Grant's time tracker notebook he wrote:

'Read 10 minutes, Spelling Unit 7 Activity 2, Library: Boobs due tomorrow."

*Definitely got a kick out of reading that this afternoon...*

Photoshoot Preview

This weekend was a bit crazy with my grandma passing away. We went ahead with our photoshoot with a friend that was sweet to take my photos for our family. She used her camera until almost the end when I let her take some shots with mine. Here are some of them...

She took a lot of pics on her camera and I am soooooo excited to see them. I love doing photoshoots for others but having someone do them for our family definitely took the stress off of me and the kids. I am looking to the photo shoots I have ahead until the end of the year!

Good-bye Grandma

My dear grandma passed away today at the age of 86. She was born and raised in Houston. She was near and dear to my heart. I have lived close by almost my whole life. We stayed at her house all the time when we came back to Houston to visit when we lived in College Station and Austin. She made us feel so at home. I have so many memories of the time I was able to spend with her in the past 31 years. She came to see me be married to Corey, she has loved my children (her great-grandchildren) so much, she showed so much love to Corey, me, and my children. I regret not being able see her this past Sunday night at the hospital. I haven't seen her this year but twice-the last time being over Spring Break before and after we went camping. She will always hold a dear place in my heart.

Longest week ever!

This is by far the longest week ever and it is not even over yet! Changes at church which made me sad, 4 out of 5 of us have had colds, took Brady in and he has an ear infection and pink eye, Ashlyn came home early from school with nothing wrong with her, I am loosing my voice due to my cold, and now I am awake at 1:56am in the morning because Grant has no fever but threw up. Being a mom can be so tiring at times but I am guessing it is all worth it. When the kids get sick in the fall/winter/spring I sure long for the HOT days of summer because my kids are NEVER sick! I have a feeling Grant is sick because of all of his coughing he is doing and the mucus but who knows so another trip to the doctors office after they open and hopefully they can tell me what is wrong with him. Ahhhh hopefully a little tv up here in the play room will get Grant back to sleep so I can get some sleep. Really I should be counting my blessings since I know others who are worse of than me...

Smarter than the school nurse...

Today has been crazy but like they say, 'When it rain, it pours.' This morning I was concerned about Brady's eye so I decided to take him to the pediatrician. I made the appointment then got some things done around the house. I took him in and they said he has pink eye and an ear infection. I wasn't too shocked but glad that we went in. After that I realized I had enough time to make it over to drop his precriptions off and then go eat lunch with friends at Taco Grill. It was there that I got the nice phone call of 'your daughter might have pink eye' from the school nurse. I really really wanted to eat and chat so some dear friends (ladies from church) pitched in and watched Brady for me all the while I drove 10 mintues to get Ashlyn since the nurse seemed like she had to be picked up right then and there. I got to the school and to me it looked like she just had some of that gunk in your eye from sleeping. I got in the car and in the back of the car I hear, 'Mom, how come I can't stay at school?' I gave her the whole if you go to the nurse you usually have to go home or in your case I think you will have to go to the doctor. I rushed back to the restaurant and chatted for almost 2 hours all while Ashlyn is playing with her friend Sydney. After we left, I looked in her eyes and knew that she didn't have pink eye! I am so much smarter than the school nurse! So many people have warned me that the nurse sends kids home all the time because she doesn't really look at what they are sent there for....ugh! Thank goodness I didn't waste another $20 today to take her in because she doesn't have pink eye :) Well, lets hope that my cold and Brady's ear infection and stuff clear up soon-we've got our family picture on Saturday!
