4th of July Weekend

Our weekend started on Thursday when Corey took his 'floating holiday' and my project for him was to paint under the chair rail in our formal dining room which is used as my office space. I will have to post pictures soon. On Friday, we woke up early and drove to New Braunfels to float the Comal River, a spring fed river that is slow and fun! Yes, it is possible to float down the river with an almost 1 year old-( I know my mom is freaking out). The day was topped off with eating at the Grist Mill in Gruene, Texas with our friends which has some good food! We had so much fun and are still talking about it. I don't have pictures of the river trip but you'll have to trust me on how much fun it was!

Saturday- we spent the day just relaxing at home doing the normal Saturday chores. Corey did yard work in the triple-digit heat and I did the grocery shopping. Grant and Ashlyn had fun just hanging out playing the Wii and watching TV. In the afternoon we took them to the pool for a little bit and then to the fireworks show at LaCentera Shopping Center in Cinco Ranch. We ended up sitting right next to some of our neighbors. The kids loved watching the fireworks!!

Sunday- we got up early (5:45am) and drove to New Braunfels, again. We were headed there for our nephew Casch Zollinger was blessed at church which was 9am. It was beautiful and Corey's brother did a great job! We then headed to their house for the rest of the day....just ate lunch and got to chat with everyone. It was a great day and very tiring. The drive home was brutal...note to us-Never drive on I-10 on the Sunday after a long holiday weekend. It took an hour longer than normal to get home.
